Gil A. Karson

Gil’s practice primarily involves live theater work, but he has extensive experience in entertainment law generally and remains active in the areas of film, television, publishing, media employment agreements and commercial endorsements.

Gil joined the firm in 1999, after approximately 15 years of practicing at smaller theater and entertainment firms in New York City.  He began his career in Washington, D.C. as a Clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and also was an Associate in the D.C. office of Wilmer, Cutler, & Pickering.

In addition to being involved with literally hundreds of Broadway shows over his career, Gil has also worked on numerous live stage touring productions as well as first class productions in London and Germany.  Clients have included noted producers, entertainment executives, superstar performers, musicians and composers, and theater owners and investors. Recent Broadway, Off-Broadway and Touring Productions include Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, Once, Motown: The Musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Rocky, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, We Will Rock You, Harmony, Here Lies Love, I’ll Eat You Last, The Last Ship, and Ghost Brothers of Darkland County.
