Daryl L. Steiger
Daryl is a member of the of the Motion Picture, Television, Theatre, Publishing, New Media and Sports practice group at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks, P.C. and her practice broadly covers all aspects of transactional media and entertainment law. She represents a wide variety of entertainment industry clients, including writers, directors, producers, networks, studios, actors and actresses, athletes, fashion designers, authors, photographers, executives, and other celebrity talent in a broad range of transactional matters, including with respect to the production, development, distribution, publishing and licensing of entertainment content and branded licensing, endorsement and appearance opportunities.
Prior to joining the firm, Daryl was an associate in the corporate department in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 2018 to 2020, where she represented top-tier private equity funds and corporate borrowers in connection with complex secured and unsecured financing transactions and a corporate associate in the New York office of O’Melveny & Myers LLP from 2016 to 2018, where she worked with various practice groups, including corporate finance, general corporate, entertainment and sports. During law school, Daryl worked in the legal department at Major League Baseball and as a legal intern at Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents, Inc.
In 2016, Daryl won second place in the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA)’s Honorable William Conner Writing Competition for her paper “Everyone’s a Celebrity: The Role of the Right of Publicity in a World Increasingly Dominated by Social Media”.
